1st November 2007 TAFE, first tractor company to be recognized for strong commitment to excel at CII -EXIM Bank award for Excellence. The commendation to Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), for “Strong commitment to excel on the journey towards excellence”, was announced at the 15th Quality Summit conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) held at the NIMHANS auditorium in Bangalore today. The commendation is based on an independent assessment of the organization on the basis of specified criteria which include Leadership, Policy & Strategies, Partnership & resources, Processes, Key results, People Results, Customer results and Society results. TAFE, one of the world’s largest tractor manufacturers, is the only company in the Indian tractor industry to have achieved this landmark. The Rs. 3200 crores Chennai based organization manufactures tractors in the 25 to 75 HP range for sale in India and exports to a number of countries world wide. The CII – EXIM Bank Award for excellence was established jointly by the CII and the Export Import (EXIM) Bank of India to enhance the competitiveness of India Inc. in 1994. The award is based on the CII – European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model of excellence. It encourages organizations to strengthen their management systems, practices and capability to enhance and sustain their competitiveness to become world class organizations. Expressing her happiness at TAFE receiving the commendation, Ms Mallika Srinivasan, Director and CEO, TAFE said,” This is recognition of our holistic approach to Excellence as a corporate entity, going beyond quality in products and services alone. The journey to excellence at TAFE was initiated some years ago as a collective effort across all functions in TAFE and this commendation is a mile stone in our continuing journey.” |
