TAFE Tractors sale zooms up by 53 % in July

Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE) appeared to be on a roll with tractors sale registering an impressive 53 % increase in July. Just two months after the acquisition of Eicher’s Tractor division, TAFE reported today a sale of 4003 tractors in July 2005 as compared to 2624 tractors sold in July 2004. Its market share for the month is also greater than the pre-acquisition joint market share of 22 %.

According to Ms Mallika Srinivasan, Director, TAFE, “ The synergy we anticipated as a result of the joining together of two pioneers in farm mechanization in the country, appears to be happening. We hope this is just a preview of better performances in the months to come, as we work towards the goal of being the Indian Farmer’s First Choice”. A number of initiatives are underway in this regard at both TAFE Motors and Tractors Limited (TMTL), which handles the Eicher Brand of Tractors and at TAFE. The near average monsoon this year and the efforts we are taking to offer customers a wide range of cost effective product options to meet a variety of needs, through the widest distribution network in the Industry, should result in greatly improved performances.”

TAFE which has set itself a target of 60000 tractors sale in the current year with a turn over of Rs2000 Crores, is expected to continue making waves in the tractor industry not just this year but also in the future.
