TAFE Group excels with 60 % growth in January The tractor group of Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE) announced today that they had achieved a record 60 % growth in sales in January 2006 with a sale of 6100 tractors as against 3810 in the corresponding period last year. The market share for January 2006 is estimated to be 24 % as against 21% in January 2005.The group’s brands of TAFE, Massey Ferguson and Eicher have been pioneers in the farm mechanization scene in the country since 1960 and their tractors have been “Farmers Favourites” right from inception. The performance from June 2005, subsequent to acquiring Eicher tractors, is significant. While the group has grown by 30 % in absolute sales volumes as against 17 % industry growth, its cumulative market share has grown to 23 % for this period as against 21 % for the comparable period in the previous fiscal. Exports of tractors and aggregates have also shown substantial growth of 80 %, so far in the current year as compared to last year.
