TAFE Launches MF241 Compressor Plus tractors for the mining industry Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, the Rs.1100 crore Chennai based tractor major, announced the launch of their MF241 Compressor Plus tractors specially designed for use with compressors by the mining and construction equipment sector. Built on the popular MF241 base, this tractor has been tailor made to provide stationary power to compressors mounted on the tractor. This ensures that the tractor and compressor unit is compact and easily maneuverable in restricted spaces. The inherent power of the tractor ensures effortless movement up steep gradients, common in open cast mines such as those found in Rajasthan. A number of new features in this tractor make it eminently suitable for compressor applications. For easy fitment of the compressor, the gap between fenders is a large 35 inches. The high ground clearance makes it easy to fit the compressed air cylinders and reduces possibility of fouling on ground undulations. User convenience and reduction of fatigue over long hours of usage have also been ensured by the provision of easy to use pendant pedals and the logishift gear pattern. The high ground clearance because of the bigger tyres fitted on the tractor also ensure higher road speed while moving from site to site or when the tractor is used for haulage. Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited is the second largest tractor manufacturer in the country. The combined dealer network of TAFE and TAFE Motors and Tractors limited of close to 800 dealers and about 2000 customer contact points making it the largest tractor sales and product support network in India. TAFE has plans to sell over 60,000 tractors this year and achieve a market share of 25 % and its sales in the first five months of the year has shown a growth that is substantially higher than the industry growth in the same period.
